Women of Fourth

Various groups of women meet weekly for fellowship, Bible study, mutual prayer, service, and encouragement. During the school year, several groups of varying sizes and formats meet at the church where a children's program is offered simultaneously. There are also special desserts, teas, and outreach events scheduled to help women reach out to other women.Retreats as well as challenging women's seminars are also designed to enrich your life in Christ.

Women of Fourth plays a vital role at Fourth Church.
We exist to serve Christ by serving one another in many different ways.
Attend when and where you can.
We really DO need one another.

Bible Studies
On Tuesday mornings at 9:30 am, (during the school year) we join together for a time of fellowship, food and study in God's Word. For those who are unable to attend a Bible Study in the day time, this study is repeated on Wednesday evenings and Sunday morning. What a great time to get to connect with other ladies in the church. We currently are doing the study: Rebuilding The Ancient Ruins: Learning the skill of Tearing Down Strongholds. Then January 2012 a new study will begin Probing Through Proverbs.

Tuesday - 9:30 am
Wednesday - 6:30 pm
Sunday - 9:00 am

Then on February 14 the we will learn and do "Cooking Freezer Meals."

Annual Women's Ministry Report for 2010

By Darlene Gable
Women's Ministry Coordinator for 2010

The mission of Women’s Ministry is to assist each woman at Fourth Church in developing a closer relationship with God by equipping them to be growing, worshipping, serving, and witnessing disciples of Jesus Christ.

Encouraging women in studying God’s Word is a focus of Women’s Ministry. We began the year with Anointed, Transformed, Redeemed, a Study of David by Priscilla Shirer, Beth Moore and Kay Arthur.

“So any good thing God saw in David’s heart was only

there as a result of David’s response to God’s work in him.

God’s electing us for His specific purposes rests on how we

respond to His love and work in us by His Spirit.” (Page13)

We began our fall with Treasure Hunting through Romans 12 a study in the Spiritual Gifts by Morna Gilbert. We ended the year studying Faithful, Abundant, True featuring Kay Arthur, Priscilla Shirer and Beth Moore. Nancy Chapple has faithfully coordinated our studies. Linda Sieveke and Margie Hamilton coordinate “First Place 4 Health” study on Wednesday evenings.

This year…

In February, we fellowshipped around the breakfast table and heard a message from Dr. Heidi Scott. She encouraged us to be still with Jesus, eliminate distractions and to meditate on God’s Word.

Our spring retreat “A God for All Seasons” featured special speaker, Dottie Calvert, which was held at Fourth Church. Dottie’s message focused on living intentionally and finishing well.

Joining the Global Missions Conference, Women’s Ministry hosted a luncheon with special missionary guests…

  1. Cathy Gallaher sharing about her victories with cancer

  2. Katie Hoffmann shared how she and Aaron are preparing for their first-term mission assignment

  3. Amy Rassmussan enlightened us with how important sharing a simple cup of tea with a neighbor opens doors to women in Afghanistan

  4. Joyce Mattocks played the piano and shared how she and Rich are bringing glory to God through the publishing of hymnals in PNG

Executive Pastor, Steve Richardson, met with the women in November to explain the new philosophy and structure of Women’s Ministry in order to be in better alignment with other ministry structures.

“The wisdom of God tells us that…

God will bring about the best possible results,

by the best possible means,

 for the most possible people,

for the longest possible time.”

Charles Ryrie

May God pour His wisdom over you!
